"Renting a textbook was shockingly painless"
I rented a textbook from Chegg for the semester and, somehow, the whole thing didn’t turn into a tiny academic nightmare. The book showed up on time, was in better shape than I expected, and returning it was easy with the prepaid label. The price was way cheaper than buying it new, because apparently textbooks don’t actually need to cost as much as a car payment. No real issues at all, so I’d definitely use it again for class

"Good overall, but the device limit gets annoying"
It works fine for the most part, and I’ve been using it for homework, which is helpful. The only thing is the device switching can get annoying if you move around between a laptop, phone, or whatever. Like, the account itself is okay, no big issues there, but that limit kind of gets in the way sometimes. Still useful though.

"Cancelling was way easier than I thought"
I used Chegg for about a month and then cancelled once I didn’t need it anymore. And honestly… it was painless. The billing was clear, I didn’t see any random extra charges, and the cancel button actually worked without making me jump through a bunch of hoops. I got the confirmation email right away too. So yeah, kind of surprised, but in a good way.

"Pretty good tutors overall"
The tutors seem to really know their stuff, and they were mostly helpful when I needed help. Sometimes it was a little hard to follow, but overall they made it easier to get through.

"Surprisingly accurate, even though I was hesitant"
I’ve usually stuck with the brand I already know, so I wasn’t expecting to like this as much as I did. But the answers were actually right and it saved me a ton of time. Kind of annoyed that I may have to admit this worked better than my usual go-to.

"Pretty helpful when I hit a wall"
I’ve used Chegg a few times when I was totally stuck on calculus or accounting homework, and it’s helped me get moving again. Most of the explanations are clear enough, and a few tutors actually broke things down better than my class notes did.

It’s not perfect, but I don’t expect every single answer to be amazing. I ran into a couple that skipped steps or felt a little rushed, though it wasn’t a huge deal. For late-night homework help when I just need some direction, it’s been useful

"Super easy on my phone and laptop"
I’ve been using Chegg on both my phone and laptop and it’s been easy to deal with. The app loads fast for me, and the website doesn’t feel confusing even when I’m bouncing between a bunch of tabs. Searching for stuff is simple too, so I dont really feel lost trying to find what I need. Overall it’s been smooth and actually helpful.

"I was frustrated when I..."
I was frustrated when I ran into the issue and wasn’t sure how long it would take to get help. But support got back to me quickly, fixed the problem, and I went from annoyed to genuinely relieved. Really appreciate the fast help.

“1st experience and it will be the last one with this company. This could be my fault doing business again with Chegg but never again am I going to them. Their algorithms for detecting multiple users on an account are so backwards. When I spoke with them they told me there's no record showing you are shared your account and your account is active but they lied. If you work and study on your work computers you'll have to reset your password every 4 seconds. If you use library or lab computers you'll also have to reset your password, because Chegg thinks you're account sharing. If you use a VPN you'll be blocked from accessing the site. Finally, if you complain about any of it you'll have your Chegg account deleted with no refund. They also get sneaky about billing you extra too. Also Using Chegg is a risk to your academic career, your school can contact Chegg at any time and get exactly what you accessed and looked at and time you're on. Basically if you use anything other than buying books, you can get in trouble for cheating. Chegg will throw you under the bus. Their customer service lady was rude and kept talking to me like I was wasting her time when I kept telling her why my account suspended. Chegg doesn't care! Once they got your money their opinion is, "Tough luck suckers!! We just got at least one month of fees out of you. More if you don't take the hours to unsubscribe." Joke site! Enter at your own risk, some people like to learn the hard way. Chegg is like a really small scam. They provide tutorial but they just steal your money even after you stopped the contract. If anyone Is reading this DON'T MAKE AN ACCOUNT WITH THEM. They are not even responding to my emails.”

I just want to order books. i do not want to have money taken out of my account each month.

“The monthly money is for an additional service. You can opt out of it at the time of your order. Supposedly. Check other reviews. Many of them say they were still charged after canceling the service. My best suggestion is to stay away from Chegg if at all possible.”
